PCI SIG
The PCI SIG, or PCI Special Interest Group, is an organization that develops and maintains standards for computer hardware interfaces. Founded in 1992, it focuses on the PCI (Peripheral Component Interconnect) standard, which allows various hardware components, like graphics cards and network adapters, to communicate with a computer's motherboard.
The PCI SIG also oversees the development of related standards, such as PCI Express (PCIe), which offers faster data transfer rates and improved performance. By providing these standards, the organization helps ensure compatibility and interoperability among different hardware devices, benefiting manufacturers and consumers alike.
