P.G.T. Beauregard
P.G.T. Beauregard was a Confederate general during the American Civil War, known for his leadership in several key battles. Born on May 28, 1818, in Louisiana, he graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point. Beauregard played a significant role in the first major battle of the war, the First Battle of Bull Run, and was instrumental in the defense of Charleston, South Carolina.
Beauregard was also involved in the planning and execution of the Battle of Shiloh and the Siege of Petersburg. After the war, he worked in various civil engineering and railroad positions. He passed away on February 20, 1893, in New Orleans, Louisiana.
