Owain Glyndŵr
Owain Glyndŵr was a Welsh nobleman and military leader who became a symbol of Welsh nationalism in the early 15th century. He is best known for leading a revolt against English rule, known as the Glyndŵr Rising, which began in 1400. Glyndŵr sought to establish an independent Wales and was declared Prince of Wales by his supporters.
Glyndŵr's rebellion gained significant support and led to several victories against English forces. However, by 1421, the revolt began to falter due to internal divisions and increased military pressure from the English crown. Despite his eventual defeat, Glyndŵr remains a celebrated figure in Welsh history and culture.
