Overseas Collectivities
Overseas Collectivities are special administrative divisions of France located outside the European continent. They have a unique status that allows them to maintain a degree of autonomy while still being part of the French Republic. These collectivities can create their own laws and regulations, tailored to their specific needs and circumstances.
Examples of Overseas Collectivities include Saint Pierre and Miquelon, Saint Martin, and Wallis and Futuna. Each of these regions has its own local government and can manage certain affairs independently, although they still rely on France for defense and foreign relations.
