Ostional Wildlife Refuge
The Ostional Wildlife Refuge is located on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica and is known for its significant nesting sites for olive ridley sea turtles. Every year, thousands of these turtles come ashore to lay their eggs, particularly during the months of July to December. The refuge plays a crucial role in protecting these turtles and their nesting habitats.
In addition to sea turtles, the refuge is home to diverse wildlife, including various bird species and marine life. Visitors can explore the area through guided tours, which promote conservation and educate the public about the importance of protecting this unique ecosystem.
