Osman II
Osman II, also known as Osman the Young, was the 16th Sultan of the Ottoman Empire, reigning from 1618 to 1622. He was born in 1604 and became sultan at the young age of 14. His reign was marked by attempts to reform the empire and strengthen its military, but he faced significant opposition from the powerful Janissaries and other factions within the empire.
Osman II's efforts to modernize the army and reduce the influence of the Janissaries led to unrest. In 1622, he was deposed and later executed, making his reign one of the shortest in Ottoman history. His legacy is often viewed through the lens of his ambitious but ultimately unsuccessful reforms.
