Oseberg Find
The Oseberg Find is an archaeological discovery made in 1904 in Norway, where a Viking ship was unearthed in a burial mound. This ship, known as the Oseberg ship, dates back to the early 9th century and is one of the best-preserved Viking ships ever found. It contained the remains of two women, believed to be of high status, along with various grave goods, including tools, textiles, and ceremonial items.
The find provides significant insights into Viking culture, shipbuilding techniques, and burial practices. The Oseberg ship is notable for its intricate carvings and design, showcasing the craftsmanship of the time.
