Orlando di Lasso
Orlando di Lasso was a prominent composer of the Renaissance period, known for his beautiful choral music. Born around 1532 in what is now Belgium, he became one of the most influential figures in the development of polyphonic music. His works often blended different styles, showcasing his ability to write for various vocal ensembles and instruments.
Lasso spent much of his career in Munich, where he served as the court composer for the Duke of Bavaria. His extensive catalog includes over 2,000 compositions, ranging from sacred music to secular songs. Today, his music is celebrated for its emotional depth and intricate harmonies.
