Orchidopexy
Orchidopexy is a surgical procedure used to correct an undescended testicle, a condition where one or both testicles fail to move into the scrotum before birth. This procedure is typically performed on infants or young boys, usually between 6 months and 2 years of age, to prevent potential complications such as infertility or testicular cancer.
During the surgery, the surgeon makes a small incision in the groin or abdomen to locate the undescended testicle. The testicle is then gently moved into the scrotum and secured in place. Recovery is generally quick, and most children can return to normal activities within a few weeks.
