Orchha
Orchha is a historical town located in the state of Madhya Pradesh, India. Founded in the 16th century by the Bundela Rajput king Rudra Pratap Singh, it is known for its stunning architecture and rich cultural heritage. The town is situated on the banks of the Betwa River and features several impressive monuments, including palaces and temples.
One of the most notable sites in Orchha is the Orchha Fort Complex, which includes the Raj Mahal and the Jahangir Mahal. These structures showcase a blend of Hindu and Mughal architectural styles. Orchha is also famous for its beautiful cenotaphs, known as chhatris, which honor the Bundela rulers.
