Oral Temperature
Oral temperature refers to the measurement of body heat taken from the mouth. It is commonly used to assess a person's body temperature and can indicate whether they have a fever or are experiencing other health issues. The normal oral temperature typically ranges from 98.6°F (37°C) to 100.4°F (38°C).
To measure oral temperature, a digital thermometer is usually placed under the tongue for a few minutes. Factors such as recent food or drink consumption, physical activity, and even breathing can affect the reading. Therefore, it is important to wait at least 15 minutes after eating or drinking before taking an oral temperature.
