Omar Bashir
Omar Bashir is a Sudanese politician who served as the President of Sudan from 1989 until 2019. He came to power through a military coup and was known for his authoritarian rule. Bashir's government faced numerous accusations of human rights violations, particularly during the Darfur conflict, which led to international condemnation and charges of war crimes by the International Criminal Court.
In April 2019, widespread protests against his regime resulted in his ousting by the military.
