Omaha Beach
Omaha Beach is one of the five landing areas used during the D-Day invasion of Normandy on June 6, 1944, in World War II. Located in northern France, it was the site of intense fighting as American forces faced strong German defenses. The beach stretches about 4,000 yards and is known for its steep cliffs and challenging terrain.
Today, Omaha Beach is a historical site and memorial, attracting visitors who wish to pay their respects to the soldiers who fought there. Nearby, the Omaha Beach American Cemetery honors the thousands of American troops who lost their lives during the invasion.
