Olm
The Olm is a unique aquatic salamander native to the underground rivers and caves of Slovenia and surrounding regions. It is known for its pale, almost translucent skin and its ability to live in complete darkness. The Olm can grow up to 30 centimeters long and has a lifespan of over 50 years.
This fascinating creature is also called the "human fish" due to its skin color resembling that of a human. The Olm has adapted to its environment by developing excellent senses of smell and hearing, compensating for its lack of eyesight. It primarily feeds on small invertebrates found in its cave habitat.
