The Ohio General Assembly is the legislative body of the state of Ohio. It consists of two chambers: the Ohio House of Representatives and the Ohio Senate. Together, these chambers are responsible for creating, amending, and passing state laws. Members of the House serve two-year terms, while Senators serve four-year terms.
The General Assembly meets annually at the Ohio Statehouse in Columbus. It plays a crucial role in shaping state policy, including budget decisions, education, and public safety. The assembly also has the power to propose amendments to the state constitution and to oversee the implementation of state laws.
