Ocular Hypertension
Ocular hypertension is a condition characterized by elevated pressure within the eye, known as intraocular pressure (IOP). This condition can occur without any noticeable symptoms and is often detected during routine eye exams. If left untreated, ocular hypertension may increase the risk of developing glaucoma, a serious eye disease that can lead to vision loss.
The normal range for intraocular pressure is typically between 10 and 21 mmHg. When the pressure exceeds this range, it is classified as ocular hypertension. Regular monitoring and eye examinations are essential for individuals with this condition to prevent potential complications and maintain eye health.
