October War
The October War, also known as the Yom Kippur War, took place in October 1973 between Israel and a coalition of Arab states led by Egypt and Syria. The conflict began on the Jewish holy day of Yom Kippur, when the Arab forces launched a surprise attack to reclaim territories lost during the Six-Day War in 1967, particularly the Sinai Peninsula and the Golan Heights.
The war lasted for about three weeks and ended with a ceasefire brokered by the United Nations. Although the fighting resulted in significant casualties on both sides, it ultimately led to a shift in the Middle Eastern political landscape, paving the way for future peace negotiations, including the **Camp David Accords
