Octavio Getino
Octavio Getino was an influential Argentine filmmaker, writer, and theorist, born on July 6, 1935. He is best known for his work in the Third Cinema movement, which sought to create films that addressed social and political issues in Latin America. Getino co-directed the notable film The Hour of the Furnaces in 1968, which critiqued imperialism and capitalism.
