Oakland Seals
The Oakland Seals were a professional ice hockey team based in Oakland, California. They were part of the National Hockey League (NHL) from 1967 to 1970. The team was established during the NHL's expansion and played their home games at the Oakland Coliseum Arena.
The Seals struggled with performance and attendance throughout their brief existence. In 1970, the franchise relocated to Cleveland, Ohio, becoming the Cleveland Barons. Despite their short run, the Seals are remembered for their unique green and gold uniforms and their efforts to promote hockey in California.
