Nyanza Province
Nyanza Province was one of the eight provinces of Kenya, located in the western part of the country. It bordered Lake Victoria to the south and was known for its rich cultural heritage, primarily associated with the Luo community. The province was also recognized for its agricultural activities, particularly fishing and farming.
In 2013, Nyanza Province was reorganized into several counties, including Homa Bay, Migori, Kisii, and Siaya. This change aimed to improve local governance and development. The region is characterized by its scenic landscapes, vibrant markets, and significant historical sites, contributing to its importance in Kenya's socio-economic landscape.
