Nuristani language family
The Nuristani language family is a group of languages spoken primarily in the Nuristan province of Afghanistan. It consists of several languages, including Prasun, Waigali, and Ashkun, which are distinct but share common linguistic features. These languages are part of the larger Indo-Iranian branch of the Indo-European language family.
Nuristani languages are known for their unique phonetic and grammatical structures, which set them apart from other languages in the region. Historically, they were influenced by neighboring languages such as Pashto and Dari, but they retain many archaic elements that provide insights into the early development of the Indo-Iranian languages.
