Nuer People
The Nuer people are an ethnic group primarily found in South Sudan and parts of Ethiopia. They are known for their pastoral lifestyle, relying on cattle herding as a central part of their culture and economy. The Nuer have a rich tradition of oral history, music, and dance, which play important roles in their social and cultural identity.
Nuer society is organized into clans, which are important for social structure and relationships. They speak the Nuer language, a member of the Nilo-Saharan language family. The Nuer have faced significant challenges due to conflict and displacement, particularly during the South Sudanese civil war.
