North American plate
The North American Plate is a tectonic plate that covers much of North America, parts of the Atlantic Ocean, and portions of the Arctic Ocean. It is one of the major plates in the Earth's lithosphere and is bordered by several other plates, including the Pacific Plate to the west and the Eurasian Plate to the northeast.
This plate is significant for its role in geological activity, including earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. The movement of the North American Plate can cause stress along its boundaries, particularly at the San Andreas Fault, which is known for its seismic activity.
