Norse paganism
Norse paganism, also known as Ásatrú, is the ancient belief system of the Norse people, primarily in Scandinavia. It centers around a pantheon of gods and goddesses, including Odin, Thor, and Freyja, who represent various aspects of life and nature. Rituals and sacrifices were performed to honor these deities and ensure their favor.
The religion also emphasizes the importance of Yggdrasil, the World Tree, which connects the nine realms of existence. Norse paganism includes beliefs in Valkyries, who choose the slain warriors for Valhalla, and the concept of fate, represented by the Norns, who weave the destinies of all beings.
