Norbert of Xanten
Norbert of Xanten was a German cleric and the founder of the Premonstratensian Order, a religious community of canons regular. Born around 1080 in Xanten, Germany, he initially lived a secular life before experiencing a profound spiritual conversion. This led him to dedicate his life to God and the service of others.
In 1120, Norbert established the order, which emphasized a balance of prayer, community life, and pastoral work. He became known for his commitment to reforming the clergy and promoting a life of simplicity and devotion. Norbert was canonized as a saint in 1582, and his feast day is celebrated on June 6.
