Noos case
The Noos case refers to a significant corruption scandal in Spain involving the former Duke of Palma, Iñaki Urdangarin, and his former business partner, Diego Torres. They were accused of misusing public funds through the Noos Institute, a non-profit organization that was supposed to promote sports and tourism. The investigation revealed that they diverted millions of euros for personal gain.
In 2018, Urdangarin was sentenced to five years and ten months in prison for his role in the scandal. The case highlighted issues of corruption within the Spanish royal family and raised public awareness about the misuse of public resources in the country.
