Nonrenewable Resources
Nonrenewable resources are natural resources that cannot be replenished within a human timescale once they are depleted. Examples include fossil fuels like coal, oil, and natural gas, as well as minerals such as gold and copper. These resources are formed over millions of years through geological processes, making their regeneration extremely slow or impossible.
The extraction and use of nonrenewable resources often lead to environmental concerns, including habitat destruction and pollution. As these resources become scarcer, their extraction can become more challenging and costly, prompting a shift towards alternative energy sources and sustainable practices to reduce reliance on them.
