Noble Truths
The "Noble Truths" are central teachings in Buddhism that outline the nature of suffering and the path to its cessation. The first truth states that suffering, or dukkha, is an inherent part of life. The second truth identifies the cause of suffering as craving and attachment, which lead to dissatisfaction.
The third truth offers hope by asserting that it is possible to end suffering through the cessation of craving. The fourth truth outlines the Eightfold Path, a practical guide to ethical and mental development that leads to enlightenment and the end of suffering.
