The Nobel Prize is a prestigious international award given annually in several categories, including Peace, Literature, Physics, Chemistry, Physiology or Medicine, and Economic Sciences. Established by the will of Alfred Nobel, a Swedish inventor, the prizes recognize outstanding contributions to humanity in these fields.
Each year, winners, known as Nobel Laureates, are selected by various committees and organizations. The awards are presented on December 10, the anniversary of Nobel's death, in ceremonies held in Stockholm for most categories and in Oslo for the Peace Prize.
