Noah Webster
Noah Webster was an American lexicographer, grammarian, and language reformer born in 1758. He is best known for creating the first comprehensive dictionary of the English language in the United States, titled An American Dictionary of the English Language, published in 1828. His work helped standardize American English and distinguish it from British English.
Webster also contributed to education by writing spelling books, such as The First Part of the Elementary Spelling Book, which became widely used in schools. His efforts laid the foundation for American education and language, influencing how English is taught and understood in the United States today.
