Nnamdi Azikiwe
Nnamdi Azikiwe was a prominent Nigerian statesman and a key figure in the country's struggle for independence from British colonial rule. Born on November 16, 1904, in Zungeru, he became the first President of Nigeria after it gained independence in 1960. Azikiwe was also a founding member of the National Council of Nigeria and the Cameroons (NCNC), which played a significant role in advocating for self-governance.
