Nizam
The term "Nizam" refers to a title used by the rulers of the former princely state of Hyderabad in India. The Nizams were known for their wealth, cultural contributions, and administrative skills. The last Nizam, Mir Osman Ali Pasha, ruled from 1911 until the annexation of Hyderabad into India in 1948.
The Nizams played a significant role in the history of India, particularly during the British colonial period. They maintained a degree of autonomy while also engaging in trade and diplomacy. The legacy of the Nizams is evident in the architecture, cuisine, and cultural practices of Hyderabad today.
