Niterói Bridge
The Niterói Bridge, officially known as the Rio-Niterói Bridge, is a major cable-stayed bridge in Brazil. It spans approximately 13 kilometers (8 miles) across the Guanabara Bay, connecting the city of Niterói to Rio de Janeiro. Opened in 1974, it is one of the longest bridges in Brazil and serves as a vital transportation link for commuters and goods.
The bridge features a distinctive design with a central span of 1,200 meters (3,937 feet) and is supported by two large towers. It plays a crucial role in reducing travel time between the two cities, enhancing economic activity and accessibility in the region.
