Nipmuc
The Nipmuc are a Native American tribe originally from the region that is now central Massachusetts and parts of Connecticut and Rhode Island. They are part of the larger Algonquian language family and historically lived in small, semi-nomadic communities, relying on agriculture, fishing, and hunting for sustenance.
Today, the Nipmuc people continue to preserve their cultural heritage through various initiatives, including language revitalization and community events. They are recognized as a tribe by the state of Massachusetts and work to promote awareness of their history and traditions while fostering connections within their community and with other tribes.
