Nimitz-class
The Nimitz-class is a class of nuclear-powered aircraft carriers in the United States Navy. Named after Admiral Chester W. Nimitz, these ships are among the largest warships in the world, measuring about 1,092 feet in length. They can carry over 60 aircraft and are designed to support a wide range of military operations.
Each Nimitz-class carrier is equipped with advanced technology, including radar systems and defensive weapons. They have a crew of approximately 5,000 personnel, including sailors and aircrew. The class has played a crucial role in U.S. naval power since the first ship, USS Nimitz, was commissioned in 1975.
