Gerald R. Ford-Class
The Gerald R. Ford-Class is a class of aircraft carriers designed and built by the United States Navy. Named after the 38th President of the United States, Gerald R. Ford, these carriers are intended to replace the older Nimitz-Class carriers. They feature advanced technologies, including a new electromagnetic aircraft launch system (EMALS) and improved radar systems, enhancing their operational capabilities.
These carriers are larger and more efficient than their predecessors, allowing for a greater number of aircraft and improved mission flexibility. The first ship of the class, USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN-78), was commissioned in 2017 and represents a significant advancement in naval warfare technology.
