Nile Monitor
The Nile Monitor is a large lizard native to Africa, particularly found near the banks of the Nile River. It can grow up to 2 meters (6.5 feet) in length and has a long, muscular body covered in dark scales with yellow or white spots. This reptile is an excellent swimmer, often found in water, and is known for its strong limbs and sharp claws, which help it climb trees and dig burrows.
Nile Monitors are carnivorous and primarily feed on fish, amphibians, and small mammals. They play an important role in their ecosystem by controlling the populations of their prey. These lizards are also known for their intelligence and can exhibit complex behaviors, such as using tools to access food.
