Nigerien President
The Nigerien President is the head of state and government of Niger, a landlocked country in West Africa. The president is responsible for overseeing the executive branch, implementing laws, and representing the nation in international affairs. Elections are held every five years, and the president can serve a maximum of two terms.
As of October 2023, the current president is Mohamed Bazoum, who took office in April 2021. He is a member of the Nigerien Party for Democracy and Socialism and succeeded Mahamadou Issoufou. The presidency plays a crucial role in addressing challenges such as security, economic development, and social issues in Niger.
