Nigerian People's Congress
The Nigerian People's Congress (NPC) is a political party in Nigeria, established in 1959. It was formed to represent the interests of the Nigerian people during the country's transition to independence. The NPC played a significant role in the early political landscape of Nigeria, advocating for regional autonomy and promoting the interests of the northern region.
The party was one of the major players in Nigeria's first elections and was instrumental in the formation of the first government after independence. Over the years, the NPC has undergone various changes and has faced challenges, including competition from other political parties like the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
