Niaux Cave
Niaux Cave is a prehistoric cave located in the Ariège region of southwestern France. It is famous for its stunning cave paintings, which date back to the Upper Paleolithic period, around 14,000 years ago. The artwork primarily features animals, such as bison, horses, and deer, showcasing the artistic skills of early humans.
The cave is part of the larger Niaux cave system and is accessible to visitors through guided tours. The most notable section is the "Salon Noir," where some of the most remarkable paintings can be found. Niaux Cave is a UNESCO World Heritage site, highlighting its cultural and historical significance.
