Nguyễn Phúc Ánh
Nguyễn Phúc Ánh, also known as Emperor Gia Long, was the founder of the Nguyễn Dynasty in Vietnam. Born in 1762, he played a crucial role in unifying Vietnam after a long period of civil war and foreign invasions. He became emperor in 1802 and ruled until his death in 1820, establishing a centralized government and promoting Confucianism.
During his reign, Nguyễn Phúc Ánh focused on modernizing the country and strengthening its military. He also worked to improve agriculture and trade, laying the groundwork for future development in Vietnam. His leadership marked the beginning of a new era in Vietnamese history.
