Nguni Cattle
Nguni cattle are a breed of cattle indigenous to southern Africa, particularly associated with the Nguni people. They are known for their adaptability to various environmental conditions and are often kept for their milk, meat, and hides. Nguni cattle are smaller in size compared to other breeds, with a distinctive hump over their shoulders and a variety of coat colors, including black, white, and speckled patterns.
These cattle play a significant role in the cultural heritage of the Zulu, Xhosa, Swazi, and Ndebele communities. They are not only a source of livelihood but also hold social and spiritual significance, often being used in traditional ceremonies and as a symbol of wealth and status.
