Newton OS
Newton OS is an operating system developed by Apple Inc. in the early 1990s, designed specifically for the Newton MessagePad line of personal digital assistants (PDAs). It featured handwriting recognition, allowing users to input text using a stylus, and included applications for notes, contacts, and scheduling.
Despite its innovative features, Newton OS faced challenges, including limited battery life and accuracy issues with handwriting recognition. Ultimately, the platform was discontinued in 1998, but it laid the groundwork for future mobile operating systems and influenced the development of later devices like smartphones and tablets.
