New Zealand Education System
The New Zealand education system is divided into three main levels: primary, secondary, and tertiary. Primary education starts for children at age 5 and lasts for six years, followed by secondary education, which covers years 9 to 13. Students typically complete their secondary education by age 17 or 18, culminating in the National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA).
Tertiary education includes universities, polytechnics, and private training establishments. New Zealand has eight universities, known for their research and academic programs. The education system emphasizes inclusivity and offers various pathways for students, including vocational training and apprenticeships, to cater to diverse learning needs.
