New York City's MTA
The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) is the agency responsible for public transportation in New York City. It operates the city's extensive subway system, buses, and commuter trains. The MTA serves millions of passengers daily, providing essential transit options across the five boroughs: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx, and Staten Island.
The MTA's subway system is one of the largest in the world, featuring 472 stations and over 665 miles of track. In addition to subways, the MTA manages several bus routes and the Long Island Rail Road and Metro-North Railroad, connecting the city to surrounding areas.
