Nenets Language
The Nenets language is a Uralic language spoken by the Nenets people, primarily in the Arctic regions of Russia, including the Yamal Peninsula and the Nenets Autonomous Okrug. It belongs to the Samoyedic branch of the Uralic language family and has two main dialects: Tundra Nenets and Forest Nenets.
Nenets is an agglutinative language, meaning it forms words by combining various morphemes. The language is traditionally oral, but there are efforts to promote literacy and preserve it through written forms, especially among younger generations in the face of modernization and cultural change.
