Nena (Band)
Nena is a German pop band formed in 1982, best known for their hit song "99 Luftballons." The band, led by vocalist Nena (Gabriele Susanne Kerner), gained international fame during the 1980s with their catchy melodies and distinctive sound, which blended new wave and pop music. Their music often featured themes of love, youth, and social issues.
The band's self-titled debut album, released in 1983, included several successful singles, establishing them as a prominent act in the Neue Deutsche Welle movement. Although they disbanded in 1987, Nena has continued to perform and release music, maintaining a loyal fan base in Germany and beyond.
