Nawab of Bahawalpur
The Nawab of Bahawalpur was the ruler of the princely state of Bahawalpur in present-day Pakistan. This state was established in the 18th century and became a significant region in the Punjab province. The Nawabs were known for their contributions to architecture, education, and the economy, fostering development in the area.
The last Nawab, Nawab Sir Sadiq Muhammad Khan V, ruled until the state acceded to Pakistan in 1955. The Bahawalpur state had its own currency and military, reflecting its semi-autonomous status. Today, the legacy of the Nawabs can be seen in the historical sites and cultural heritage of Bahawalpur.
