Naw-Rúz
Naw-Rúz is the Persian New Year, celebrated on the vernal equinox, marking the arrival of spring. It usually falls on March 20 or 21 and symbolizes renewal and rebirth. The festival has roots in ancient Zoroastrian traditions and is observed by various cultures, particularly in Iran and among Baha'is worldwide.
During Naw-Rúz, families engage in various customs, such as cleaning their homes, visiting friends and relatives, and preparing special meals. One of the key traditions is the setting of the Haft-Seen table, which includes seven symbolic items that represent health, prosperity, and happiness for the new year.
