Naum of Ohrid
Naum of Ohrid was a prominent 10th-century Christian scholar and monk, known for his role in the development of the Cyrillic alphabet and the spread of Christianity in the Balkans. He was a disciple of Cyril and Methodius, the creators of the Glagolitic script, and contributed to the establishment of the Ohrid Literary School.
Naum founded a monastery near Lake Ohrid in present-day North Macedonia, which became a center for education and culture. His work helped preserve the Slavic language and literature, making significant contributions to the cultural heritage of the region. Naum is venerated as a saint in the Eastern Orthodox Church.
